As the Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and accountability within our clients’ organization. You will oversee all financial operations, implement robust tracking systems, and establish best practices for project-based accounting and cost management throughout the project life cycle. We are looking for someone who can actively control financial processes and not just pass responsibilities off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting specifically for project-based operations.
- Implement and maintain revenue recognition policies in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and manage effective cost tracking systems to monitor project expenses and life cycle costs.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting on all projects.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and tax obligations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role with a focus on project-based accounting; construction background is a plus.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and cost management practices.
- Ability to develop and implement financial controls and reporting systems tailored for project-based accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
